1961-2010 Roxanna Lea Turley, 48, Frontenac, Kan., died unexpectedly Jan. 29, 2010, in Frontenac. Roxie was born Dec. 2, 1961, in Topeka to Thomas Edward and Juanita Turley. She was a graduate of Turner High School in Kansas City, Kan. She made her home in Paola where she lived most of her adult years. She had recently moved to Frontenac. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She loved playing board games and cards, listening to music and reading. Earlier in her life she developed an interest in crocheting and her talent was dispersed as welcoming gifts to her own babies and to her niece and nephews as each was born. She also crocheted doilies. She became a member of the Paola Christian Church on Sept. 21, 2008, where she actively attended until her move to Frontenac. She was preceded in death by her father, Thomas Edward Turley, and an infant brother, Brett Earl Turley. She is survived by her long-time companion, Leroy Prihoda; three children, Michael Turley of Frontenac, and Charles Kirkland and Chrystal Kirkland, both of Garnett; her mother, Juanita Turley of Paola; and two sisters, Karen Feuerborn and Donna Elsbury, both of Paola. Her family and friends will miss her dearly. A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the Paola Christian Church, 302 E. Peoria St., Paola, KS 66071. Arrangements are by Penwell-Gabel Paola Chapel, 305 N. Pearl St., Paola, KS 66071, (913) 294-2372. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the church.
