William “Bill” George Stringham, 36, died Jan. 31, 2010, at the University of Kansas Hospital in Kansas City, Kan.

He was born March 8, 1973, to James and Laverne Prothe Stringham in Paola. He graduated from Paola High School in 1991 and attended Johnson County Community College and the University of Kansas.

He was currently employed as a landscaper. He enjoyed being outdoors, traveling, sports, sailing and being on the water; he also collected lighthouses and loved animals, especially his dog Giuseppe.
He is survived by his parents, Jim and Laverne Stringham of Paola; three sisters, Sheryl Giebler of Louisburg, Brenda Janzen of Oakley and Shelli Barnes of Paola; two brothers, James “Rob” Stringham and Stephen Stringham, both of Paola; and many nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held at 1 p.m. today at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home, 305 N. Pearl St., Paola, KS 66071, (913) 294-2372, with the service to follow at 2 p.m. Condolences for the family may be left at www.penwellgabel.com
