1931-2010 Luella Glenadyne Haley, 78, of Osawatomie, died Jan. 23, 2010, at St. Luke’s Hospital, Kansas City, Mo. Glenadyne was born July 23, 1931, at Spring Hill, the younger of two daughters born to Glen W. and Jennie Luella Redenbaugh Ginn. She graduated from Maysville, Mo., High School with the class of 1949. She was united in marriage to James Hobart Haley at St. Joseph, Mo., on Nov. 19, 1949. They made their home in Fairport, Mo., on the farm where she grew up. She was the mother of five children and one step-son. James and Glenadyne moved their family to Paola in 1955. In 1982, they moved to Osawatomie. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Paola. She was a leader in the Victory 4-H Club and served on the Miami County Fair Board. She organized and started the Miami County fair queen program which continues after 30 years. She enjoyed sewing for family and piecing quilts. She continued sewing for her family until she lost most of her eyesight in 1986. She made sure to send greeting cards to every family member on their birthdays and anniversaries. Her greatest joy in life was her husband of 60 years, her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Daniel Haley; her step-son, David Haley; and two half-brothers, Willis and Elton Ginn. She is survived by her husband, James of the home; three sons, Paul Haley of rural Paola, Joel Haley of Paola, Kevin Haley of Dripping Springs, Texas; one daughter, Ginny Gabbert of Paola; a sister, Maxine Wiseman of Shawnee; 21 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Services were Tuesday, followed by burial in the Osawatomie Cemetery with her grandsons serving as pallbearers. Memorials are to the First Baptist Church in Paola or Miami County Fair Board Association.
