1918-2010 Dorothy E. Poston, 91, Paola, died Jan. 23, 2010, at her nephew’s home. She was born May 17, 1918, in Odessa, Mo., to Clay C. Eagan and Jenny Marie Caldwell Eagan. She grew up and graduated from North East High School, Kansas City, Mo. She became a wife, homemaker and mother of two sons. She had lived in San Diego, Tucson, Horton, Kan., and Paola during her life, until her health failed and she moved in with her nephew, Dennis Downey, in Louisburg. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, playing cards, selling Avon products and was a member of the women’s auxiliary. She was a people person, and never met a stranger. She enjoyed her family and friends. Preceding her in death were a son, Terry Clark; brother, Jim Eagan; and five husbands. Survivors include her son, Karl Hardwick of Castle Rock, Colo.; a sister, Joyce Downey of Louisburg: two grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. She was a wonderful person who will be missed greatly by all. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Penwell-Gabel Louisburg Chapel, 120 S. Broadway Road, Louisburg, KS 66053, (913) 837-4310. To leave condolences for the family online, please visit www.PenwellGabelLouisburg.com.
