In fact, the Wildcats forced overtime after a frantic fourth quarter rally, but the Broncos took care of business in the extra period. Spring Hill rattled off 17 points in the overtime and went on to a 77-61 victory for its second-straight Frontier League victory. “Overall, I thought our kids played well,” Spring Hill coach Rick O’Neill said. “There are many areas that we need to improve in, but anytime a team can win on the road, it is a big win.” The Broncos got a big lift in overtime from their four top scorers — Jordan Miller, Mitch Watson, Colton Ghumm and Derrick Koehn. All four players scored in double figures, but none were bigger than Miller. Miller scored a game-high 21 points, including back-to-back buckets in overtime to help create some separation from Louisburg. Watson finished with 16 points while Ghumm and Koehn scored 12 and 11 points, respectively. Spring Hill, which already has a win over Ottawa in league play, took an 11-point lead late in the third quarter, but watched it slowly slip away in the fourth. The Broncos committed nine turnovers in the final period and the Wildcats took advantage and eventually tied the game late. Spring Hill had a chance to win in regulation, but Watson’s 3-pointer at the buzzer missed wide and forced overtime. “Louisburg is a well coached team, so it was not a surprise when they had such a strong fourth period,” O’Neill said. In the overtime, however, the Broncos came out firing. Spring Hill scored 17 points in the extra period to put the game away. The Broncos play in their home invitational all this week. They hosted Hogan Prep in the first round Tuesday. Games will continue on Friday and Saturday.
